Medical Jets International is a full-service EMS providing both 9-1-1 and interfacility transport for the east region of the Metroplex. We provide EMD services to our 9-1-1 customers.
Medical Jets is seeking full time dispatchers. The dispatcher would be responsible for taking, triaging and dispatching 9-1-1, urgent and non-emergency requests for medical care and transportation. Our dispatchers provide EMD (emergency medical dispatcher) services including triage/prioritization and pre-arrival and post-dispatch instructions, utilizing computer aided dispatch platforms to manage field resources.

Duties include:
- Performs all duties with the utmost professionalism, reliability, and integrity
- Maintains a calm, non-emotional, professional tone
- Gathers information from callers including nature, severity, location, and status of emergencies.
- Assesses need for response and dispatches resources accordingly.
- Acts as a resource point for all agencies utilizing our services
- Adapts to changes in the work environment quickly and precisely
- Determines medical necessity for ambulance services
- Performs insurance verification/pre-authorizations for IFTs
- Maintains knowledge of customer contracts and agreements
- Inputs and updates emergency and non-emergency call data
- Monitors, updates, and controls the location/movement of all units
- Assists responding units with routing instructions to scenes when necessary; relays efficiently and accurately utilizing any resource available
- Monitors and documents response times of units, investigating and reporting any exceptions
- Maintains understanding of all company policies, procedures, and medical protocols.
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of all equipment, including telephones, radios, and computers
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Communications, call taking or dispatching experience required
- 911- call taking experience required
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Demonstrate knowledge of local geography
- Must exemplify professional attitude and appearance
- Regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work hours is essential.
Licenses and Certifications Required: (must be current and in good standing):
- Valid Driver’s License
- EMD Certification- or able to obtain within 60 days
- CPR/BLS
Salary: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour based on experience

- Varied 12 hour shifts- 2/2/3 schedule
