Experienced Professional Pet Groomer

We are growing quickly and are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and reliable Mobile Pet Groomer to join our team!

As a Mobile Pet Groomer, you will operate independently inside a fully equipped, state-of-the-art grooming van, complete with grooming equipment and supplies. You’ll provide high-quality, low-stress grooming services right at our clients’ doorsteps. This role is ideal for groomers who enjoy autonomy, problem-solving, and building strong, trusting relationships with pets and their owners.

Responsibilities:

• Provide professional grooming services including bathing, brushing, haircuts, nail trims, de-shedding, and breed-specific styles
• Safely handle and restrain pets using proper breed specific animal-handling techniques to ensure their comfort and well-being
• Assess each pet’s coat, skin, eyes, ears, mouth health, and behavior, notifying owners of any concerns that may require attention
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary grooming van, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly cleaned and well-maintained
• Operate and care for grooming equipment, identifying and troubleshooting minor van or equipment issues (e.g., generator resets, dryer issues, clogged drains)
• Safely drive a large mobile grooming van to and from client homes, following all traffic laws and maintaining a professional, courteous presence on the road
• Manage appointments and daily schedules efficiently to provide timely, high-quality service
• Deliver outstanding customer service and build strong, trusting relationships with clients
• Provide pet owners with advice regarding grooming maintenance, coat care, and general pet wellness
• Assist with occasional lifting and handling of equipment, supplies, or large pets to ensure safe and efficient operations
• Ensure every pet receives gentle, low-stress, fear-free care throughout the grooming process

Qualifications

• Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of dog handling techniques and animal restraint methods
• Background in veterinary assistant roles is highly desirable, with knowledge of animal health indicators
• Experience with dog training or behavioral management is a preferred for handling challenging pets calmly and confidently
• Excellent animal handling skills across various breeds and sizes, including heavy lifting capabilities for lifting large dogs into the van.
• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with pet owners
• Knowledge of pet sitting, kennel experience, or other animal care roles demonstrates your dedication to animal well-being
• Ability to work independently in a mobile environment while maintaining high standards of safety and hygiene

Schedule

• 8-10 hour shift
• Day shift
• Flexible schedule

Experience

• Minimum 2 years pet grooming experience (Required)

Requirements:

• Portfolio showcasing grooming skills and prior work (required)
• Clean and valid driver’s license with the ability to safely operate a large grooming van
• Minimum of 2 years professional grooming/stylist experience
• Strong grooming abilities, including scissoring and breed-standard cuts
• Ability to groom dogs of all sizes and breeds; cat grooming experience a plus
• Excellent communication skills with both management and clients
• Ability to work independently, stay focused, and manage time effectively
• Prior customer service experience required
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized mobile workspace
• A genuine love for animals. Must be comfortable working closely with all dogs and cats (preferred)

Compensation:

• Commission + 100% tips
