Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop, a brand of pie shops offering the taste of Southern tradition using time-honored recipes and traditional baking methods, announces a grand re-opening celebration event for its Forney location on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Located at 845 Farm to Market 548 Suite 100, the all-day event features a free 4-inch pie and gift bag to the first 20 guests, ‘Free Pie for a Year’ raffles, giveaways, entertainment, and a fundraiser for Victim to Victory, a local non-profit organization. “When the opportunity came up to purchase this Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop from the previous owner, I didn’t think twice,” said Corey Masters, Texas native and owner of Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop in Forney. “I’ve been an entrepreneur for many years with several other franchise brands. I did not even realize I was looking for another opportunity until I tried a Buttermilk Sky pie and fell in love with the product. Since then, I have only grown more passionate about the brand. My goal for this location is to continue to build our presence in the Forney community and be the go-to dessert stop for special moments.” Open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. beginning October 19th, guests of Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop in Forney take a trip back in time to when pies were made by hand. With 9-inch and 4-inch pies, flavors include the best-selling I-40 pie (pecans, chocolate chips, a sprinkle of toasted coconut and a smooth pecan pie filling in a sweet shortbread crust), Southern Custard, Chocolate Cream, Coconut Cream, Key Lime, Granny’s Apple, Peanut Butter Cream, Coconut Cream, Chewy Chocolate Chip, Pecan, and seasonal favorites. The bakery also offers homemade Thumbprint and Cloud cookies, Cloud 9 (pie-blended ice creams), 2-inch party pies by the dozen and pie stacks. The grand opening celebration will be held Saturday, Oct. 19 during normal business hours, with the first 20 customers receiving a free 4-inch pie and goodie bag, and an all-day buy one pie, get one free offer. Three ‘Free Pie for a Year’ raffles will be held throughout the event. Pie samples, a bounce house, and ongoing entertainment will provide delicious family fun. In addition, 20 percent of the day’s sales will be donated to Victim to Victory, an anti-bullying non-profit organization. “We are dedicated to being a positive part of this community, including supporting local clubs, schools, and charitable organizations,” said Masters. “I was really inspired by the work being done by Victim to Victory and look forward to continuing our partnership in the future.
